Khang – City of Eternal Confusion

I have a recurring dream – or rather a recurring theme of dream. I wake up in this strange city which is always a reddish color from the sunset because it’s always around dusk or shortly thereafter when I arrive. There are hardly any people around. Whenever I wake up there, I’m aware of a task or mission that’s been assigned to me by a controller. It’s like a game, but with real consequences should the mission fail.

I have incredible speed and agility in this city, and I know every street like I’ve lived there my whole life. The city is very big and modern, with tall skyscrapers covered in colorful flashing LEDs. It has a big river that runs along one side of the city, and I often find myself there to dispose of something related to the mission. I sometimes go into the river.

The city is called Khang. My controller is one of the ‘Spinners’, an entity from another world that can only be perceived in dreams.

O the cunning wiles that creep
In thy little heart asleep!
When thy little heart doth wake,
Then the dreadful light shall break.
— William Blake
